Set the Project's Aspect Ratio

Before you start working on your project, you should set your movie's aspect ratio. The default aspect ratio is 4:3. If you are viewing your movie on a widescreen TV you may change the aspect ratio to 16:9, provided that the media clips you have are also in widescreen format. To set the aspect ratio for your movie, click Edit > Aspect Ratio > 4:3 or 16:9. The preview window will change according to the aspect ratio you have chosen.

Note: It is important that you set the aspect ratio of your movie before you start adding clips to the timeline/storyboard. You can not change the aspect ratio of your project once your started editing clips.
